So I've been pretty quiet of late. Not much to say, really. Work isn't bad. DS games are fun. That's about all with me.
What caught my attention, though are various links regarding This.
Now I read Mac Hall all through it's run. I read Three Panel Soul now. I have a great deal of respect for both Matt and Ian. Ian because he is an amazing artist, and Matt because he is a very intelligent and funny writer. It makes me sad and angry to see someone so intelligent and giving of his talents to be ostracized because he spoke of a HOBBY to a co-worker. So a tragedy occurred the same day? Someone was scared. So what? Should we fire people now because they like KNITTING? OMG THEY USE A NEEDLE. IT'S POINTY.
The state of this country has devolved so stupidly. If they want to fix the problem, get some goddamned gun control. Leave the poor artists and kids alone. People need to work. Now he'll likely have a problem finding a job because someone was too stupid to say "Your conversation disturbs me. Could you please take it somewhere else?" That's all it would have taken. And maybe he would still have a job. I understand and sympathize with the tragedies of both the WTC and VaTech. I just don't think we should make other innocent people suffer because of them, and that's what we're doing now.
Get a clue, people. |

Okay, the gist, update your LJ with 3 songs that over the course of your memory, made you feel hopeful or positive. Songs don't still have to make you feel that way, only made you feel that way at the time, etc. Though if you're not as jaded at me, they may still make you feel that way. ;)
Duncan Sheik - "Home". This song brought me back from the brink of despair when my ex and I parted ways and I thought everything was long. This beacon of light came from Andrew, of course.
Xenosaga - "Kokoro". I don't know how to explain this one, really. Just that, when I heard it, it was like the words and melody enveloped me and embraced me. It was a good, hopeful feeling.
Nana Mizuki - Eternal Blaze. This is the opening for the second season of Mahou Shoujo Lyrical Nanoha. Yeah, yeah. I know, it's a magical girl series with heavily implied loli yuri, but the song is amazing. Especially the extended length version I have. ^_^
